about

harry giles is a working musician and recent sound production graduate with extensive drumming performance experience.

For almost a decade since I was a teenager, I've had a consistent passion for drumming and I consider it a serious endeavour. I've worked incredibly hard to have played shows with various bands over the years at prestigious venues - such as the De La Warr, Windmill Brixton, dust, and Patterns - supporting successful acts (Opus Kink, Kid Kapichi, and Honeyglaze). In the last few years I have also focused my efforts involving sound production, studying a degree in Music & Sound Production, and graduating with a first. my first big mixing project was working with the veltmans on their debut EP 'coastal receipt', which released early this year.

in 2024 my focus is
continuing to work with new bands & artists to produce/mix their material
gain industry experience in audio engineering, sound design & session drumming
release sound design projects of my own

performance

(2021-)

formed in 2021, flip top head are a seven-piece art rock band from brighton."the free-ranging sonic motif of flip top head continues to galvanise the uk underground scene. sporting two-tone swagger, punkish grit and a poetic post-rock melody - it's no surprise flip top head is already sharing bills with fellow high-risers deadletter, opus kink, honeyglaze and the new eves since their debut single in february 2023 - including landing appearances at the great escape, brighten the corners and sŵn festival.
the band released their second single 'alfred street' to critical success and appraisal from so young and hard of hearing."
they embarked on a jan 24 tour in ireland, scotland and england, ending on a special date at nieuwe anita in amsterdam.flip top head are
bowie bartlett (vocals/guitar), alfie beer (trombome/guitar), bertie beer (vocals/guitar), marie freiss (bass), harry giles (drums), harrison spooner (guitar/cello) and ollie white (percussion/synth/guitar).
